DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago celebrates its 71st edition\, continuing the tradition of honoring the legacy of Giacomo Puccini. This season marks a special tribute to Puccini’s masterpieces with performances of his most beloved operas\, directed by world-class artists and performed at the iconic Gran Teatro all’Aperto by Lake Massaciuccoli. \nThe festival will present six productions of Puccini’s operas\, performed in chronological order of their original premieres. Additionally\, a special event will commemorate a milestone anniversary for one of Puccini’s most cherished works. We celebrate the Perseid Meteor Shower with an exciting musical and cultural program\, making this summer evening a must-see. \nMusical Program:\n\n8 Bastions\, 6 Barracks\, and 2 Castles along the Walls of Lucca will host concerts\, classical music performances\, dance\, and choir performances.\nTango: The Tango Querido association will present milongas and dance rehearsals for all levels.\nClassical Music: Performances from the Alfredo Catalani Music Circle\, Lucca Jazz Circle\, and students from the Boccherini Conservatory.\nChoral Performances and Dance: At the Baluardo la Libertà\, the Lucca Music Association and Virtuoso & Belcanto students will perform.\n\nStargazing:\n\n\nWatch the Perseids from the ramparts\, with clear visibility due to the small crescent moon. \n\n\nSpecial Activities:\n\nGuided Tours: Explore the underground and historical fortifications of the Walls.\nGuinigi Tower and Tower of Hours: Special evening opening from 9:30 PM with a 3€ ticket.
