Made from the Sangiovese Grosso grape, the main difference between the Brunello and Chianti is that the Brunello is always made from 100% Sangiovese, while a regular Chianti can contain up to 30% of other grapes. Brunellos are darker in colour and tend to be more tannic, age-worthy, and complex than Chianti wines, which means they also tend to be understandably pricier than their Chianti cousins.<\/span><\/p>
