Ideal conditions for a stroll around Florence, passing over the Ponte Vecchio and along the Arno river. Or why not visit the historic town of Lucca, with its quaint streets and independent shops. Pisa has also a lot to offer, with the Leaning Tower as the main attraction.
Minimum temperatures can still be fairly low though. Between 5°C and 15°C (41°F and 59°F) in early spring and up to 20°C (68°F) in June. Al fresco dining is certainly possible towards the end of spring.
Summer: Soak up the sun on the beach
Most people would say the best weather in Tuscany in Italy is in summer, because temperatures can reach around 30°C (86°F) during the day. Ideal for a lazy day at the beach, with a delicious gelato to cool down, while the kids enjoy swimming in the sea. Viareggio is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Tuscan region and perfect for families. If you prefer a quieter beach, head to Maremma, in the south of Tuscany. Night temperatures won’t go below 20°C (68°F), so why not have a glass or two of Chianti under the stars.
Autumn: Still warm enough
If you prefer it less hot, then the autumn weather in Tuscany is perfect for you. Daytime temperatures in September and October are still agreeably warm, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). With it also being an off-peak season, it’s the ideal time to discover all the gems of the Tuscan region.
Even nighttime temperatures stay in double figures, so it is still possible to enjoy your evening meal while sitting outside. In November, it turns colder, with maximum temperatures of 15°C (59°F) and lows of 7°C (44°F). While autumn is still mild, it does rain more. Winter: Mild but wet
Winter in Tuscany is mild, daytime temperatures mostly in the low double figures. However, it can get quite cold during the night, only just above freezing. Despite the mild climate, it can occasionally snow, and it’s generally a wet season. That’s why not many tourists visit Tuscany in winter, unless they want to ski. The Apennines are famous for their ski resorts, and they attract many tourists every winter.
