However, the most significant chapter in the history of Villa Reale di Marlia began in 1806, when Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, Napoleon Bonaparte’s sister and the Princess of Lucca and Piombino, later purchased the estate and transformed it into a royal residence.

She transformed it into a royal residence and renamed it Villa Reale.
