This edition of Photolux Festival in Lucca explores the question, “What does it mean to be Italian today?” Through photography, the festival reflects on Italy’s identity, examining its evolution, beauty, and contradictions. Inspired by Dante’s verse “Del bel paese là dove ‘l sì sona,” Italy is celebrated as “The Beautiful Country”—a place of both wonder and complexity. The exhibitions present a dialogue between Italy’s heritage and its modern realities, featuring works from renowned Italian and international photographers alongside emerging voices.
