Barga Jazz – festival in Tuscany

The BargaJazz Festival, a prestigious summer jazz event in Barga, Lucca, invites you to experience a rich program of concerts, the International Arrangement and Composition Contest for Jazz Orchestra, the Barga Jazz Contest, educational activities, and additional cultural events.

This year’s lineup includes performances by the renowned saxophonist Chris Cheek and a special tribute to the legendary Joe Henderson. Founded in 1986 by Giancarlo Rizzardi, the festival is now held in the beautifully restored 18th-century Teatro dei Differenti in Barga’s historic center.

From the beginning, the festival distinguished itself with its unique focus on jazz orchestra arrangement and composition, a concept brought to life with the musical direction of Bruno Tommaso.
