Canadian artist Diana Krall returns to Lucca Summer Festival after an 11-year absence, having last performed at LSF in 2013. This will be an opportunity for the public to enjoy her hits along with songs from her latest album, “This Dream of You,” released in 2020.
“This Dream of You” features Krall in a quartet with longtime collaborators John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, and Anthony Wilson on tracks like “Almost Like Being In Love” and “That’s All.” It also includes a trio with Christian McBride and Russell Malone on “Autumn In New York” and “There’s No You.” The album highlights amazing duets, including “I Wished On The Moon” with John Clayton, and tracks like “More Than You Know” and “Don’t Smoke In Bed” with Alan Broadbent on piano. The final recording session took place at Capitol Studios, featuring an ensemble with guitarist Marc Ribot, Stuart Duncan’s violin, Tony Garnier on double bass, and Karriem Riggins on drums.
Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have nine albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. She has earned five Grammy Awards, ten Juno Awards, and multiple gold, platinum, and multi-platinum records. Born in British Columbia, Canada, Krall discovered her love for music at a young age. She started performing at 15 and has since learned from and played with great musicians, honoring them through her art and music.
