The Lucca Summer Festival is opening the 2024 edition with a true legend. Sir Rod Stewart will take the stage in Piazza Napoleone on July 7th, bringing his successes from a 50-year career.
Rod Stewart, praised as the best singer of his generation, has written songs that became modern standards and performed with pioneering rock bands like The Jeff Beck Group and The Faces. He has achieved immense success as a solo artist, known for his raw combination of folk, rock, blues, and country. With his raspy voice and timeless coolness, Stewart has placed 16 songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 and sold over 250 million records worldwide. His hits include “Maggie May,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” “Forever Young,” and many more.
In 2019, celebrating his 50th year as a solo artist, Stewart released “You’re In My Heart: Rod Stewart With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,” earning his tenth No. 1 album in the UK. His tours and residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas have been critically acclaimed. Stewart’s achievements include two listings in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the ASCAP Founders Award for Songwriting, and a knighthood in 2016 for his services to music and charity.
