Lucca in the summer is warm and very sunny. Temperatures range between 25°C to 30°C, however, heatwaves are common in July with temperatures exceeding 35°C. Rainfall is minimal during this time as July is one of the driest months with only about 40 mm of rain. Lucca has sunny and dry conditions making it the perfect time for summer festivals such as the world-famous Lucca Summer Festival. Past guests have included Ed Sheeran, Duran Duran, and Lenny Kravitz.
Winter (December to February)
Winter in Lucca is mild compared to other parts of Italy, as temperatures range between 5°C and 10°C. Rain is more frequent during this season, and December receives an average of 110 mm, but snowfall is very rare. Although the weather is cooler, Lucca has a festive charm! The city is adorned with lights and decorations making it a winter wonderland in preparation for Christmas.
Autumn (September to November)
In autumn, the temperatures gradually drop, and range between 15°C and 25°C. The cooler air and light breezes provide a comfortable season for exploring the city and its surrounding areas.
